Woodland Skills for Everyone
01 — Instructional Overview
Each Woodlander experience includes an introductory course (live online) which covers the fundamentals of wilderness experience, what to expect on a hunt or hike, the philosophy of wildlife conservation and sustainability, and a preparation and packing checklist for you to use on your own.
02 — Comprehensive Field Prep (for game hunters)
Each game hunt expedition is preceded by an onsite field instruction weekend. This 2-day session is designed to acclimate you to the climate, terrain, and geography of your game hunt location, as well as to review best practices for weapon preparation, survival skills, and basic outdoor emergency preparedness.
03 — Seasonal Game Hunting
Choose from a wide variety of small and large game hunts, seasonally dependent. Select a time of year that works best for your schedule. Whether you choose large game or small, four-legged or two-legged prey, we are prepared to adhere to our ethical principles and high standards while facilitating the optimum opportunity for success.
04 — Seasonal Fishing Intensive
Fishing seasons allow for similar opportunities to explore nature, learn about our ecosystems, to appreciate our environment and to put food on the table, while reducing the overhead for licensure and lengthy overland travel required for hunting. Although like any craft, it can take a lifetime to master, you can be fishing successfully within an hour of instruction with extremely low risk of injury or mishap.
05 — Wilderness Hiking and Camping
Hiking in the wilderness is one of the simplest pleasures available to us. Proper planning, map reconnaissance, terrain analysis, navigation, and emergency preparedness - can keep things from getting complicated in unexpected ways. Overnight wilderness camping can take many forms, from primitive shelters to comfortable cabins, each experience can be suited to your skills and preferences.
06 — Wildlife and Nature Photography Treks
Expert photographers know their equipment best. We're not photographers, but we offer expertise and guidance in animal movement, tracking, and seasonal trends which can improve your ability to get the shots that others only dream of. Choosing the right trekking gear and honing emergency preparedness and navigational skills help ensure that your experience will not only be successful but also as comfortable and safe as possible.
